Highlees School Council
Our school council are a dedicated team of children who strive to continually help to improve our school. Each member was elected by their fellow classmates during Democracy Week and represent their class during meetings, to ensure that the voices of all children are heard.
We meet regularly to discuss issues which are important to the children, as well as planning charitable days and fun activities for the school.
So far this academic year, we have successfully planned and carried out our Children In Need fundraiser for which we managed to raise an amazing, £190.50.
We also addressed the fact that we had a large amount of litter at lunch time, therefore we purchased litter pickers for every class and created information posters to help promote keeping our environment clean.
We then began our Happy Lunchtimes Project following feedback from the children that lunch times weren't as fun as they could be. School Council met with the dinner staff and discussed ways they could help to improve the lunch time together. This is an ongoing project with many exciting changes happening throughout the year.
We are also currently planning a fun-filled Comic Relief day.
If you have any issues you would like to raise or changes you would like to see happen, please contact your class representative who will bring your ideas to the meeting to be discussed.
Together we can help Highlees Primary School to continue to grow and succeed and bring out the best in everyone.
